When these people see helpless dogs trapped in a tar pit they realize something must be done quick.

A team of Airsoft players from Chile were getting ready to play when they heard the crying sound of two puppies. The discovery of the dogs struggling in a tar pit immediately caused them to work on trying to rescue the helpless animals. The puppies were immersed in the tar pit; frightened and fighting for air.

The group first tried to lasso the dogs.  Due to the thickness of the tar pit this did not work.  The rescuers found some old tires close by so a second time they tried to get themselves closer to the dogs. The tar was so gluey and dense which caused the tires to be ineffective.

They found some long pieces of wood to use as a bridge and a rescuer tried to get under one of the dogs so that it could walk on the piece of wood. Little by little they pulled the dogs closer to the edge.

Eventually they got the dogs close enough to try to pull them out but the dogs started to cry out in pain because the tar had engulfed them so much. The dogs snapped at the rescuers making it harder for the rescuers to pull them out all the way. So instead of pulling the team decides to push them to the edge.

The puppies were freed from the pit now but the black sticky tar had covered them head to toe. Due to being exposed to the hot air  the tar began to dry fast which caused more problems. The group of rescuers tried to scrap as much of the tar off as possible with their hands.

The Cleaning Process Is Difficult

They tried to keep the two dogs calm by gently petting them, meanwhile they took clumps of tar off the dogs bodies.

The group got as much as they could and then took the dogs to “Gatos Abandonados Antofagasta” (Abandoned Cats Antofagasta) which was nearby to get the rest of the tar off. The volunteers put the pups into a bathroom in addition to the long cleaning process.
