Puppy With Deformed Legs Gets A Happy Ending

A New Lease on Life for Roscoe

Meet Roscoe, an energetic, happy four-month-old pit bull puppy who was born with a birth defect.

Roscoe’s front legs didn’t stretch out like normal front legs are supposed to be. His were straight shoulders to elbows but the wrists were bent backwards forcing the pup to only be able to crawl around  on his wrists instead of his feet.

His current fate is being carried around by humans or crawling on his wrists.

Well, we know wrists aren’t made for that  and so crawling around all the time became painful and caused permanent wounds.

Even though crawling was painful…Roscoe just couldn’t be contained…he is clearly a joyful pup as you will see in this video – energetic, interested in everything and just plain happy.

Watch this video of Roscoe’s antics and playful attitude. What a great dog.

After Veterinarian Dr. David Crouch [a veterinary board certified surgeon with Western Carolina Veterinary Surgery] performed a medical evaluation, it was determined that he could perform the corrective surgery, but, the operation would cost upwards of $3,000. The Asheville, NC, clinic reached out to their Facebook Community to let them know Roscoe needed surgery.
