This dog with glasses was abandoned, sick, and blind
All the way from close to death and blind, to healthy and fresh eyesight, Marco the pit bull has had an excitement filled year.
Georgia Obenaus, the CEO of Go Rescue Pet Adoption Center in Virginia Beach, made it her undertaking to find this abandoned pit bull a forever home ever since 2013 when she took him in.
Marco was in some bad shape. He barely had any hair, he had skin infections, and had basically a bone for a tail. And that is not even to mention the fact that he was blind.
But luckily Marco had some help from the community and some fans, Shana and Jamie Haines, who were able to raise the last of the $3,000 that was necessary to pay for a surgery that would give him back his eyesight. Even though surgery was successful a couple of months later, Georgia was never able to find him the perfect family.

However, in early July Georgia was able to find Ashley and Sarah McGinley to adopt Marco.
“Now we just realize it was waiting for the exact right people to step up,” says Jamie Haines.
The McGinley’s had helped fund Marco’s surgery and monitored his recovery. However, thinking for sure he had gotten adopted, Ashley and Sarah were excited to be wrong.
“We’re really looking forward to it and we want to be his forever home,” says Ashley.
