A Disabled Dog is Abandoned But Finally Finds Caring Model

This disabled dog has a story with an interesting twist. Leo was abandoned and ignored by the people who would pass him by on the streets of Thailand.

Leo’s back legs were paralyzed due to a broken spine. To get around Leo was forced to drag his body.

His savior was a young model from Canada, Meagan Penman, who was vacationing in Thailand for the summer. Meagan was walking along the beach and stumbled upon this helpless animal. Moved with compassion Meagan took action.

Meagan took Leo to the vet when she found him on the beach. The vet discovered the broken spine on Leo and that he had been paralyzed for some time.

Meagan was able to bring Leo back to Canada and found an animal shelter that would care for him. There was a fundraiser to help pay for his vet bills and also to acquire a wheel chair for Leo. They were able to bring in over five thousand dollars to help cover the costs.

Leo finally found a loving owner, Jamie Marilyn Smith, and in addition to a warm bed to sleep in he also has a wheelchair for his hind legs. Meagan wrote,

“(Jamie Marilyn Smith) is a really awesome person and I am very happy that he ended up with her. I am by no means a professional dog rescuer but I could not have left him there so I did what I could to get him home. This truly was a group effort and I really appreciate all of the support.”
