This Deaf Dog Finds a Great Friend In This Little Girl
A little girl from California named Julia was deaf from birth. However, at age 6 she was able to find a friend that knew what she was going through. One day someone brought into the Pasadena Humane Society shelter a group of six-week old puppies. Among the litter was a little deaf puppy that stood out to Julia and Chrissy, her mother straightaway. Both Julia and Chrissy had an instant connection with the puppy and decided to name him Walter.
Julia and Walter instantly became inseparable even though they had just met.
“She’s learned a whole other kind of love,” Chrissy said. “I think they were both meant to find each other.”
Julia is teaching Walter some sign language commands such as water, food, and sit.
Chrissy remembered how Julia would act when she was a baby and couldn’t hear. Whenever Julia would try to recognize her mom, she would do so by smelling her neck. In fact the first thing Walter did when Julia picked him up was smell her neck — the same way Julia did when she was a baby.
Walter even knows when Julia is done with her homework so that they can go play together.
Julia and her mom wanted to make sure Walter was dressed up for his photos. The blue shirt matches his eyes really well.
